The Truman Show Paper

Kelsey Schile
The Truman Show Paper
Period 2

The Truman Show depicts several interesting areas of the movie production through music, realistic, and the ending. The music and the sounds can change the mood and the emotions in the movie very quickly. The Truman Show has many unrealistic scenes that happen throughout the movie. The ending was good because it showed that the movie wasn’t reality, and that it is pretty much impossible to happen to someone.

Music can determine the mood of the movie. The music can control the mood with different types of music. In the movie towards the end when he was sailing on that boat they were playing soft soothing music. Then when he hit the wall the music stopped to show that he reached the end. The music got more intense when Sylvia and Truman ran off to the beach with that car following them. The music can make a huge difference on the mood of the movie. Also sounds can have an impact on the mood of the movie. In The Truman Show the sounds were related to the actions. Whatever the character did, they had an action that best represented it. The sounds kept the movie interesting and I was always waiting to find out what happened next. I think that The Truman Show should get an award. The camera angles and the way they used the cameras was incredible. That’s another reason why I was interested in the movie. Music and the sounds can really affect the mood and the different emotions in a movie.

Even though the music and sounds made the movie interesting there was many scenes that were unrealistic. There were a few flaws in the movie, such as when you’re sailing on a boat it’s highly unlikely to hit a wall. Just the movie in general wasn’t realistic. It’s pretty much impossible to make a whole island into actors and actresses to make a show about one man through his whole life. But I thought that some of the actors were really good, but some weren’t so good. The actors were realistic but the story was not realistic. I don’t think that it’s possible for another “Truman Show” incident to come out. It’s just impossible to get everyone in on it to make it happen. I don’t even think we have the technology to make it happen either. So I don’t think that anyone could remake a “Truman Show” like this because it’s near impossible to get everyone to cooperate. This movie wasn’t realistic and wouldn’t happen to anyone. But I did kind of like the ending.

It was a good ending because it showed it wasn’t reality. Truman’s last words, “in case I don’t see you, good afternoon, good evening and good night,” I liked them. By saying those words I feel like he was brave and that he was sticking up for himself. I think he stuck up for himself because he was sick of being lied to about who he is. His whole life was basically a movie for him just to “protect” him. At the very end when Sylvia leaves her home, I think that she is going to find Truman. I think that Truman and Sylvia will end up together. I think that Christof was mad that Truman left because now he won’t make any more money for people watching his show. The viewers who watched the Truman Show are going to find another show to start watching because The Truman Show is over because Truman left. If there was a sequel to The Truman Show I think that Truman and Sylvia will start dating and Truman’s friend will have a better job than stacking vending machines. But I thought that The Truman Show had a good ending because it teaches people how to be brave and to stick up for themselves when someone tries to convince them to do something that they don’t want to do.

The Truman Show depicts several interesting areas of the video production through, music, realistic, and the ending. As you know, the music and sounds can determine the emotions and the mood of the movie. Also, that the movie has many unrealistic scenes. Lastly, the ending was good because it showed that it wasn’t reality.
